Coupons
Coupons allow you to offer one-time or recurring discounts on your services to customers via coupon codes.
You can visit the Coupons page by navigating to Marketing > Coupons (opens in a new tab) in the Swift Admin Dashboard.
When to Use Coupons
Coupons in Swift are a great way to promote a new camp, clinic, or program. They're also an ideal way to launch your business, if you're just getting ready to open your facility.
Other common use cases include:
- Early bird pricing on programs
- Private loyalty discounts for certain customers or teams
- Promoting new instructors or trainers at the facility via discounted lessons
- Referral programs
The coupon feature is very flexible, and can easily acommodate the above use cases (and more!)
View All Coupons
To view the existing coupons at your facility, just navigate to Marketing > Coupons (opens in a new tab) in your Swift Admin Dashboard. There, you'll see a list of the different coupons already created at your facility. If you've never setup a coupon before, you should see a card that prompts you to create one.
Create A New Coupon
To create a new coupon, click on the "+ New" button on the top right. You will land on the "Add Coupon" form, which is what you'll need to fill in order to create the coupon.
Let's go through each of the items on this form step-by-step.
Basics
Here you can set a name for this coupon (ex: Early Bird), as well as an optional description. Both of these fields are internal, so you don't need to worry about customers seeing this.
Discount Details
Now you can set a variety of details specific to the kind of discount that this coupon will provide. Let's go through each item.
Type & Amount
First, you can specify the type of discount (percentage off, or a fixed dollar amount off). Then, you can enter the percentage or amount accordingly.
Service Types
Here, you can specify whether the coupon "Applies to" individual services (ex: Hitting Lesson, Summer Camp) OR groups of services (ex: "All Rentals" or "All Memberships").
Depending on what you choose in the "Applies to" section, you'll have the ability to choose those specific services, or the groups in the dropdown.
Duration
This field is relevant, only if your coupon can apply to memberships. For memberships, a duration of "once" means that the discount will only apply on the first billing period or payment. Subsequent payments will not be discounted.
If the duration is set to forever, recurring payments will have the discount applied throughout (to every payment).
Code
Now you can enter the code that customers will need to use during checkout to redeem this coupon. You can either type in a code manually (ex: SUMMER10) or you can have the software auto-generate one for you.
Important note: the code cannot include any special characters (#, _, etc). Just numbers and alphabet characters.
Active Dates
For seasonal or time-bound promotions, you can set specific dates that the coupon is valid between. The start & end of the period can be configured, and you can leave either of them blank to avoid putting a limit.
If you've set a start or end date, the coupon will only be redeemable by customers within the specified time range.
Customer Eligibility
You can also indicate if this coupon is redeemable by all customers, specific groups of customers (ex: Members only), or individual customers & their kids.
Once you've made the selection, you'll have the option to either enter the group/membership that's eligible, or the specific customers in the dropdown.
Usage Limits
Finally, you can also set limits on how often a coupon can be redeemed - either in total, or per customer. This is great for limited-time promotions, and increasing urgency amongst your clients.
Edit A Coupon
To edit a coupon, click into the specific coupon from the Marketing > Coupons (opens in a new tab) page and you will be taken to the "Edit Coupon" form.
Here, you can edit any of the details mentioned above. Just remember to click "Save" at the bottom to apply your changes!
Duplicate An Existing Coupon
To make it easier to create multiple coupons, you can click into an existing coupon on the Marketing > Coupons (opens in a new tab) page, and then click the "bottom arrow" icon on the top right, beside the "Copy direct booking link" button.
You'll now be navigated to a new "Add Coupon" form, with all the details of the previous coupon filled in! The title will have the word "(Copy)" added to it, to indicate that this is a duplicated coupon.
Disable or Deactivate A Coupon
Instead of deleting coupons, you can keep them around and just "disable them" or "make them inactive" if you'd like to temporarily stop offering that discount.
To do this, just click into a coupon and Click "deactivate coupon" on the top right. This will prevent customers from being able to redeem the coupon.
When you're ready, you can click "Activate coupon" and it'll now be redeemable again.
Delete A Coupon
To delete a coupon completely, click into an existing coupon and scroll down to the bottom of the page. There, you'll see a "Delete" button on the bottom left.
This button may be disabled if you don't have the permission to delete it (in which case, you should talk to the owner or someone with more access).
Click Delete and hit "Confirm" on the modal to remove this coupon. Remember, this action cannot be undone.
